過去のインタビューからレパートリーについて語っているところを勝手に紹介シリーズ。つかパペングリッシュがぶっちゃけ聞き取りにくいので、慣れるためにディクテイションしてみました。かなり分かんなかったところがあるので、ヘルプ熱烈歓迎です。上の音声ファイルの16分くらいからです。

- That's a great role for bass. Is it tough to find really good roles in opera when you were bass?
- Pape
- Ummm... No. It's not tough depends on what you think. If you want to be the lover so (???) bass you felt.
- Interviewer
- All right. Because the tenor gets the girl.
- Pape
- On stage.
- Interviewer
- On stage!! (laugh)
- Pape
- So and .....
- Interviewer
- Wait a minute! Wait! Wait this story there're!
- Pape
- No, no, no. And a girl so many beautiful great base roles, some of them they're in comparison to whole opera very short, just (???) 20 minutes or 30 minutes. Some of them (they arond show) Gurnemanz, he is singing one half hour. And now, it's really for me, (my) really interseting is to play all those charactors to sing them to make (thier) life, you know, and of cource when I start(ed) my career was 24 years (old) and to sing all these old guys was not easy because I didn't (feel) olders why(is) experience life, experiences .... anyway, so but later on you (???) up those roles and I really have lot of fun and I really love for that (???).

- Did you take acting lessons?
- Pape
- No. Should I?
- Interviewer
- No! I wouldn't think so. I mean looks like you did.
- Pape
- It was a part of hour when I was student be had some classes like that. So I was 18 to 22 in the time. So..., but I don't take any classes. It may be natural talent. I dont know. I like play anyway.
- Interviewer
- Well, and suddenly charactor Leporello in Mozart Don Giovanni, it's very playful charactor, it's quite different as you mentioning before from a lot of usual sings the bass guest do on stage.
